Charming little hotel, staff were excellent and the location was beautiful in a valley surrounded by several mountain ranges. Location: the property was so close to the restaurants near Domingo church and many other attractions.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The location was perfect for me - just blocks away from Santo Domingo and surrounded by excellent restaurants and bars. It was nice to be away from the busyness of the zocalo and enjoy a more calm atmosphere. The courtyard was absolutely beautiful, and the Spanish-style rooms were really nice. The front desk staff were like angels, always helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and had a great view. I even had the pleasure of listening to a guitar player during one of my breakfasts. The attached cafe also served fantastic drinks and food.
Nothing, it was perfect.

The building was beautiful and the terrace was great. Staff were very helpful and the location was great.
There was not really anywhere to sit comfortably inside in the hotel, which was a little bit of an issue since it rained like mad when we were there. The Wifi was supposedly only available in public spaces, but we got a weak signal in our room.

The value for money was great and the room was lovely and beautifully decorated. The location was very central and convenient, with easy access to the historic center and nearby restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful, informative, and always available when needed.
The hotel breakfast menu could be improved by offering a wider variety of options.

The hotel had a great location - it was a 7 minute walk to the centre and away from heavy traffic or the masses of people and resturants. The hotel architecture is typically Mexican, full of colour with lots of greenery within. We stayed there with our two young girls, initially for 3 nights but extended our stay for another 3 nights. Despite having no swimming pool, our girls had a great time playing on the hotel grounds, at the water fountain and the terrace. The hotel serves only desayuno but we were so close to a variety of good restaurants nearby so food was not a problem at all. Happy travels!
There is a huge roof terrace at the hotel with a panoramic view of the valley, however it would have been nice to have some sombrillas and comfortable lounge sitting to chill, read or just enjoy the view.

Helpful and friendly staff. Beautifully presented and individual rooms with nice touches, such as folding the towels differently each day! Nice rooftop terrace. Good location for the centre and great views from the roof.

During our stay over Christmas, we liked the fact that the hotel had instant hot water in the bathroom and a nicely appointed interior with colonial-style decor. The location was also very convenient, being close to the main church and a short walk to the town center. Another advantage was the rooftop terrace with stunning views of the town and the surrounding mountains.
On the downside, the room we stayed in was cold at night and there was no option for heat. The pillows provided were large and hard, which made it difficult to get comfortable.

The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated in traditional Mexican design. The rooms are big enough, with large cushy beds, and ceiling fans. The bathrooms are also nice, with plenty of storage space in the room. The staff were very kind, allowing me to enter my room early (my bus arrived at 7am) before my check-in time with no additional charge and providing me with a good map of Oaxaca's historical district. Well worth the money!

This hotel is #1 on my list. The location is perfect for walking to all the activities in the city. Just a short 8-10 minute walk to the main plaza, the markets, and the cathedrals. It's also conveniently located only two and a half blocks away from Santo Domingo Church and a couple blocks more to the Zocalo. The value for money is great, with affordable prices and attention to detail. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The rooms, although quite dark, are beautifully appointed and the basic amenities are all there. The breakfast is cheap and really delicious, with a fabulous view of the Cathedral and mountains surrounding the city in the hotel's outdoor restaurant.

The rooms were big and comfortable but the very best thing was the breakfasts. They were utterly fantastic. (Not included in the price but worth every penny).
The room was lower ground so the room was generally a little dark but it really is a minor complaint. We were aware of the lack of wi-fi so if that's really important to you then avoid.
